UCAS and Progression

We help students get to where they want to be, whether that’s going to university, doing an apprenticeship or starting a career.

We provide an extensive programme of information, advice and guidance to support students in applying to university via UCAS and applying for jobs and apprenticeships. To help students explore their options, we host lots of external speakers and arrange visits to university open days and taster sessions.

Where do our students progress to?

The majority of our students progress to university and we are proud that a large number of students go on to study at Russell Group universities.

Students also go on to do an apprenticeship or start their career. This has increased over the past few years with the development of degree apprenticeships.

2023 student destinations

  • All students applied to university with 102 students deciding to pursue university as a preferred destination. 17% of students pursuing apprenticeships with National Grid, Dental Nursing and UKF Stainless.
  • 22% of students who applied to university progressed to Russell Group universities.
  • Students went on to study at local universities such as University of Birmingham, Aston, Worcester  and Nottingham as well as progressing to Durham and Exeter
