Reminder: Sixth Form will be closed for students on Monday 9th December for an Inset day.
We award a number of Academic Study awards in the form of Scholarships.
Applications for these awards are welcome from students who have studied at Windsor and from students who have studied elsewhere. Each individual Award will be to the value of £550 and is intended to support Advanced Level Study in Years 12 and 13. Please note there is a maximum spending cap of £250 towards purchasing IT equipment.
The main purpose of this award is to support an enhanced level of academic engagement such as lectures and University Summer Schools as extra preparation for application to such Universities as Oxford, Cambridge, the Russell Group as well as other Universities and particular courses.
Students achieving nine or more 7-9 grades in GCSE subjects are eligible for the scholarship and will be interviewed by the Headteacher.
Scholars will be expected to routinely commit to an intellectual journey above and beyond the demands of public examinations.
Scholars are expected to consistently achieve high attainment grades in examinations and in their reports. They will also be required to make a contribution to the academic life of the Sixth Form; this could be by acting as a Mentor, Leader or undertaking a role on the Student Union.
We expect students who receive the Scholarship Award to fulfil the expectations accompanying it and that by doing this they will access their higher academic aspirations.
All academic scholarships awarded will be subject to termly review.
