Cambridge Technicals Sport and Physical Activity Level 3 Diploma provides an exciting opportunity if you have a passion for sport and are interested in how excellence in coaching and leadership can be developed.
You will follow a vocationally specific qualification which will develop a range of personal skills and knowledge that will be essential for successful performance in working life. You will study a range of topic areas which will require you to participate practically as well as research and produce written responses to work related assignment briefs.
The course is equivalent in size to two A Levels. 11 units of which three are examination and the remaining eight are both internally and externally assessed.

To develop a deeper understanding of more specific areas of the sporting world like sports injuries. Students will further develop their skills through specialist pathways that help them deliver sport and physical activity to a wide range of participants.
Your course will be assessed through both coursework and exams. Your skills and knowledge will be assessed through practical tasks written coursework presentations and teacher observation and three exams at the end of a unit. This is a double award (720 Guided Learning Hours).
The PE department is very experienced at teaching CTEC Sport, students enjoy the course, are successful and many further their studies by completing PE related degrees at university. Students are also successful in gaining employment in areas where the skills they have learnt on the course are advantageous to them in their apprenticeship or workplace.
Many facets of the course involve leadership and studying at Windsor means that you are able to lead students who study at the school. You will also have access to a state of the art fitness suite to complete a number of units as well as use as part of extra-curricular activities.
All Cambridge Technical qualifications go well with any combination of subjects. It will go particularly well with other BTEC courses as the method of study will be similar.
This qualification will you the opportunity to enter employment in the sport sector or to progress to higher education vocational qualifications in sport or sport and exercise science.
There is also a range of vocational courses that can be accessed to further a career in the sports and leisure industry including sports development, competition manager, sports coaching, physiotherapy, teaching, sports management, sports journalism, working in a leisure centre or lifeguarding.
Students progress to study sport at university or go on to complete an apprenticeship in sports coaching.
