What has been your career pathway since leaving Windsor?
At Windsor I studied Business, History and English Language for my A Levels. I had a placement to go to university, but instead I ended up studying with a well renowned organisation in Redding, California - studying Theology & Leadership. This course took me all across the United States, where eventually I spent some time living in Texas, heading up a department that helped to reach youth in Houston. After the pandemic settled down, I decided to return to Birmingham. I decided to develop my skill set in digital marketing, and now work for a phenomenal agency in the city.
What advice would you give to current Windsor students?
Do not just do something because everyone else is doing it. You need to know why YOU are doing it! Carefully consider the career path you are choosing. Do I really need a degree for this? Will the future income prospects be a good return on investment for the debt I will incur at uni? Are you passionate about it? My other piece of advice would be to develop your skill set! What are the high income skills that are in demand right now? The more you can solve problems that are in high demand, the more VALUABLE you become to the market. Therefore, your earning potential will only increase. Find what you love and find high income skills that correspond with that!
What are your future plans?
The sky is the limit. I want to continue to help the organisation that I work for thrive and grow. I look forward to starting my own business one day, having an amazing family and continuing the rest of my journey to explore the world.

Two years later I’m now a full time Co-ordinator within the Medical Team.
What advice would you give to current Windsor students?
Enjoy school, listen to people when they tell you these are the best days of your lives. Don’t let other people cloud your judgement and be who YOU want to be not who others want you to be. Also take the career path that’s best for you, not everybody has to go to college or university and what you want to do now might not suit you in years to come, and that’s ok.

I studied PE, Spanish, German and Geography at GCSE, this was followed up with PE, Geography, Sociology and Psychology at AS Level. After Windsor, I went to Halesowen Town Football Club Academy and did a BTEC Level 3 extended diploma. After this, I went to Hartpury University for three years on a Sports Coaching degree and then studied one year with Newman University on my PGCE Secondary Physical Education.

Don’t be afraid to voice your opinions. Even if that’s to teachers. Always questions things you don’t agree with and believe in your self and your values. Take risks, don’t follow the easy route.
What are your future plans?
Secondary PE teacher, potentially complete a Doctorate in Education.

What has been your career pathway since leaving Windsor?
It is still rather surreal to think of how quickly my years’ time at Windsor ended as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. After leaving full-time education, I wanted to take an alternative route to university, and so in October 2020, I was fortunate enough to join the Civil Service as a Case Administrator within the National Probation Service. My role included working alongside Probation Officers who supervised individuals who had recently been released from prison, or those who were serving Suspended Sentences or Community Orders. It was a year later where I wanted to progress within the service, so I sought promotion and transferred to the Department for Work and Pensions, whereby I became a Debt Management Officer. This entailed collecting back funds of which people received from the DWP, whether that be because of fraud, or a genuine mistake made from the individual involved. In April 2022, I was privileged to obtain a promotion within DWP and became a Project Manager within the Service Modernisation team. This involves transforming the services which DWP provide to customers for not just the benefit of customers, but also for the sake of protecting the public purse as much as we possibly can. This may involve creating new online services for customers to use, as opposed to having to phone in should they need to get in touch with the department; or trying to combat issues more internally, such as trying to reduce errors within the department’s telephony structure. It’s never a dull moment!
What advice would you give to current Windsor students?
My advice to current Windsor students would be to not get daunted if you don’t want to go to university. As much as university is a vital step for many to achieve their future goals, it is not the only answer. There are many many ways you can achieve your goals, whether that’s various degree apprenticeship opportunities, for example within the Civil Service, or other apprenticeship opportunities within many different sectors. Just enjoy what you do, it makes it much easier!
What are your future plans?
I hope to continue to climb the ladder within the Civil Service, either within DWP or other government departments. I hope to enrol in a leadership course called Evolve which will enable me to develop my leadership skills and put them into practice at work. I am continuously looking for numerous development opportunities!
What is your best memory of your time at Windsor?

I studied nine GCSEs at Windsor: English Lit & Lang, Maths, Triple science, Geography, History and Art. I loved my GCSEs and decided to stay on at Windsor Sixth Form, doing three A-levels in Biology, Chemistry & History. I set my heart on studying Medicine and received a lot of support from the Sixth Form when building my UCAS application. I am now a second year medical student, and love what I study. I work part time as an optical consultant, and go out on placement every other week to see patients at a local GP practice.
What advice would you give to current Windsor students?
Take advantage of the support available, from your teachers and from the scholarships available. Through scholarships I was able to fund medicine prep courses, and even buy my first stethoscope. Definitely work hard but enjoy your time with your friends too because you will look back and miss it!

What has been your career pathway since leaving Windsor?
Studied GCSE's at Windsor, college at Haybridge, accounting job at same time as studying for ACCA.
What advice would you give to current Windsor students?
My advice would be to work hard in all subjects, at this point you may not know exactly what you want to do as a career, even university degrees may not be wholly linked to your future career. The core subjects such as Maths, English, the Sciences etc could be a great foundation for your future and you may not really expect that right now.
What are your future plans?
I knew during my time at Windsor I should go down the route of some sort of finance career given my love of numbers and Maths. I went on to continue with Maths, Economics and Geography at A-Level which led me to an interest in Accountancy. I was fortunate enough to secure a place within an Accountancy firm giving me a good base for my accounting knowledge. I have used that base to progress through different types of businesses in roles such as Business Accountant, Finance Manager and Finance Controller. For me the type of business you work for is a key part in job satisfaction, you have to enjoy the business as well as the role. I currently work for a Robotics company which is hugely interesting to see from a technical point - Robotics will most definitely have an impact of the future, so for me this job will allow me to progress my accountancy career alongside seeing some glimpses to future technologies.
What is your best memory of your time at Windsor?

Never give up on your dream. Embrace all opportunities. Where there is a will, there is a way. If there is a chance in a million that you can do something or anything. Do it. What advice would you give to current Windsor students?
Don’t feel pressured to go to University. It is an incredible experience for some, but not all. There are many different ways into a good career path but it is normal to not know where you want to be going when you leave School or Sixth Form. Getting a part time job at the age of 16 really helps you to find your feet in the world of work and experience interviews before you find a career you want. School, Sixth Form, Uni and places of work are different experiences for everyone and it is ok to change your mind. How far you can progress in a career is not determined by a degree but is determined by how hard you work.

I found my passion in media through Windsor, taking it as an option alongside Computing at GCSE. I furthered Media Studies to A-Level at Windsor Sixth Form, whilst making the most of the work experience opportunities presented to me. I began in 2014 volunteering at Halesowen Town FC, a club which I have since returned to and work with. The experience here, and further at Black Country Radio during my time at Sixth Form, alongside my academic studies landed me a place at Solent University. There, I studied Sports Journalism and enjoyed three years exploring the South Coast for sporting events to work on. After this I was approached by Hereford FC to become their lead match day commentator, covering every single home and away game including a trip to Wembley Stadium for the FA Trophy Final. I currently work for FlashScore UK, providing audio commentary of the Premier League, Champions League, and at the time of writing this, the World Cup in Qatar.

Push yourself and don't do the bare minimum. The only reason I got to produce a Breakfast show at Smooth Radio to over 500,000 people was because I was the first one in and the last one to leave when I was at work. Speak to people, show an interest - it won't be forgotten.

I stayed at Windsor from Y7 to Y12 and the main thing I loved was the teachers and the quality and care the teachers would provide in their lessons. I'm currently in my 4th of a 5 year masters in Chemical Engineering at the University of Nottingham. It's a very challenging course but I find applying the things I learnt at university very rewarding. I'm currently on placement at Dow Silicones UK, it's one of the largest silicon chemistry plants in the world, we make polymers which go into cars, cosmetics, construction and a multitude of other industries.
What advice would you give to current Windsor students?
I do want to mention how useful degree apprenticeships can be to learn very applicable and useful skills, I do wish I looked more into them in Y11. The convention does seem to be everyone goes to uni but I remember there was a program to push them more in Y11. My university course was very broad and gave me lots of options and was ideal because I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to do.

I then went into university feeling much more secure in my choices, knowing I had made them for all the right reasons. I constantly compared myself to others for taking the year out, but it was the best thing I could have done for myself personally and professionally.

Also to make friends and have some fun as it’s one of the best periods of life with no extra responsibilities for most students.

What has been your career pathway since leaving Windsor?
I gained my GCSE qualifications at Windsor High School and three A levels at Windsor Sixth Form (Law, Sociology and Philosophy). I then studied my Health and Social Care BSc at Newman University. I am currently completing my PGCE-PCET (post 16+ compulsory education training) at Birmingham City University.
What advice would you give to current Windsor students?
I would remind them that although at that age their friends and their social life may seem very important to them, at the end of my experience my qualifications was the only thing that stayed with me (and a few friends). I would advise them not to stress themselves out and take care of their mental health. In my experience I would let them know that aiming for the highest grade or trying to get the most out of an experience will always benefit them, as even if they don't get the highest grades they would still be in a good position and they can say that they put their all into it.
What are your future plans?
My future plans are to finish qualifying as a further education teacher, specialising in health and social care. Although I would love to teach other related subjects, for example early years or childcare, as well as my A-Level subjects, such as Sociology.

My best memory of Windsor was meeting my best friends, who I still am very close to until this day.

What has been your career pathway since leaving Windsor?
It’s been quite a journey to be honest but there’s been one prevailing theme, hardcore chemistry! It’s what I live for, finding out the fundamentals of what goes into our drinks or our medicines. It’s all down to chemistry. At Windsor I studied Chemistry, Physics and Drama. A strong combination but recognising the tenacity that chemistry can bring in your day to day life through story telling. I managed to get in (thanks to Windsor) to Oxford University to study Chemistry and had a superb experience specialising in Microbiology Chemistry.
What advice would you give to current Windsor students?
Stick to your passions and what you enjoy. Do the extra curricular activities and stay late until twilight, it’s all worth it until the sweet taste of success on results day. Moreover, do the DofE award; a great way to build your skills and put yourself out there in the nature. The muddier the better.
What are your future plans?
Keep sticking to passions in chemistry and work towards my Microbiological Chemical Engineering PHd.
